Happy Birthday, EC!
On Sunday, October 20th, 2024, Encounter Church celebrated its very first birthday—a full year since God launched this little church plant into something only He could build. And what a year it’s been.
From our early days meeting in a construction zone to finding a spiritual home in the Enrich Event space, God has led, provided, and moved in ways beyond what we could’ve dreamed. Our first birthday wasn’t just about cake and balloons (though we had those too)—it was a holy moment of worship, reflection, and deep gratitude.
During the celebration, the microphone was passed around to members of our church family. One by one, voices rose to give thanks and testify to all God has done through Encounter Church this past year.
People spoke of:
Finding spiritual strength in seasons of uncertainty
Building community and forming friendships rooted in faith
Having a home where they feel welcome and known
Raising families in a church that values the next generation
Experiencing healing, encouragement, and purpose
It was raw, heartfelt, and real. This wasn’t just a party—it was a praise offering. A way for us to echo what Psalm 126:3 says: “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
Our worship team led us in powerful songs of thanksgiving and reverence. As voices lifted and hands raised, we were reminded once again of the overwhelming, never-ending love of God that has carried us from the very beginning.
The message that followed pointed us back to our mission and vision—centered around being an Acts 2 church: devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. It was a moment to recommit, to celebrate what has been, and to look ahead with expectation to what God will continue to do.
We’re a year into this journey, and God is just getting started. As we celebrate, we hold on to the truth that this is His church. Built not on strategy or strength—but on the Spirit, the Word, and the love of Jesus Christ.
Thank you to every person who’s prayed, served, given, attended, invited, and shown up along the way. You are part of this story.
Here’s to many more years of encounters with God, life change, and community transformation.
Happy Birthday, Encounter Church. All glory to God.
