EC Takes On the Halloween Hoedown
On a crisp October evening, Encounter Church had the joy of participating in the Halloween Hoedown at Lake Reba in Richmond, KY—an annual event that draws families from all over the community for safe, festive fun. With trunks decorated, buckets of candy on hand, and hearts full of love, we showed up ready to connect, encourage, and shine the light of Christ to our local community.
Jodie Lunneborg was a standout at the Encounter Church booth, dressed as a bright and joyful angel—complete with halo! Her warmth and enthusiasm lit up the night for dozens of families who stopped by. Alongside Jodie, Dennis and Nancy Brown were faithfully handing out candy and church info with big smiles and even bigger hearts.
Together, they represented EC with kindness, laughter, and a generous spirit—making sure each child left with not just a sweet treat, but a reminder that our church is here and eager to welcome all.
It’s moments like these—passing out candy in a crowded park under early autumn leaves—where church goes beyond the building. We believe every interaction matters, and events like the Hoedown give us an opportunity to be present in our city in a fun, approachable way.
We’re so thankful for those who served at the booth and the many families we got to meet. God uses even a simple piece of candy and a kind word to open hearts.
Thank you, Jodie, Nancy, and Dennis, for representing Encounter Church with such joy and love! We can’t wait for more opportunities to be a light in Richmond—one smile (and maybe one piece of candy) at a time.
