The Charge Conference with Jerri Williams

Encounter Church recently had the honor of welcoming Presiding Elder Jerri Williams as she conducted a Charge Conference with our congregation. A Charge Conference is a time of connection between our local church and the Global Methodist Church (GMC), providing space to celebrate what God is doing, hear updates, and make important decisions about our shared ministry.

Jerri opened the morning by sharing about her recent experience at the General Conference in Costa Rica, where Global Methodist leaders from around the world gathered just a few weeks ago. She spoke with passion and joy about how the Holy Spirit moved in powerful ways during those sessions, uniting churches and leaders as they discerned the future of the denomination.

Hearing Jerri’s first-hand account gave us a glimpse of how Encounter Church is connected to a much larger global family, and how God is at work in profound ways through the GMC.

After Jerri shared, the floor was open for questions, allowing our church family to learn more about the denomination’s vision and direction. It was a great opportunity to connect the dots between what’s happening at the global level and how it affects our ministry here at Encounter Church.

We also participated in voting on various matters pertaining to the GMC, reaffirming our commitment to align with the values and mission of our denomination.

The Charge Conference was more than just a business meeting—it was a reminder that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. God is moving, not only in Richmond, KY, but all over the world, and we’re thankful to be connected to that work through the Global Methodist Church.

Thank you, Jerri, for your leadership, your encouragement, and for helping Encounter Church stay connected and focused on God’s mission.
