Welcome to the EC Family!
This Sunday was a beautiful and emotional moment in the life of Encounter Church as we welcomed a new sister into our church family—Barb Williams.
Barb stood before our congregation and shared a tear-filled testimony that deeply moved everyone in the room. She vulnerably opened up about a difficult season she’s been walking through—a season marked by the unexpected and painful loss of a job she had faithfully worked for 25 years. Alongside that came a series of personal and emotional challenges that left her feeling like her world had been shaken.
In the middle of that storm, Barb found herself crying out to God, saying, “Lord, you need to fix this.” It was a prayer many of us have whispered in our own seasons of waiting and desperation.
One day, while scrolling through Facebook, Barb came across a post shared by Stacy Jordan—an invitation to attend Encounter Church that Sunday. Something nudged her to go. And thank God, she did.
She came through the doors unsure of what she’d find. What she experienced was exactly what her heart had been longing for: warmth, welcome, and love. Barb shared how she instantly felt seen, embraced, and safe—and in that moment, she knew: “I’ve found my home.”
As Barb reflected on her journey, her message said something profound: God doesn’t fix things in our time, but in His time—and when He does, it’s infinitely better than we could have planned.
At the end of service, Barb took the Membership vow, officially joining Encounter Church. She was greeted with hugs, cheers, and open arms from the entire congregation—an outward expression of the inward truth: she belongs here.
Barb, we are so grateful for your story, your strength, and your obedience to show up. You are part of this family now, and we can’t wait to walk this next season with you. God isn’t finished. He’s just getting started.
If you’re reading this and wondering whether God could meet you in your mess—Barb’s story is proof: He absolutely can. And He will.
Welcome home, Barb. We’re so glad you’re here.
