Introducing, MGM!
At Encounter Church, we believe there’s beauty and wisdom in every generation—and we’re especially thankful for our MGM group: that is, the Mature Global Methodists!
Launched by Lori Chasse, MGM is a fellowship group designed specifically for EC members ages 55 and up. It’s a time to connect, laugh, share stories, and build friendships that strengthen the body of Christ.
When asked about MGM, Lori had this to share:
“God gave me a word for 2025. It was "refocus". One of the areas for this was the "mature-age group" that we have at Encounter. I knew that we had quite a few and I wanted to get us together. At our age (55+) we are empty nesters, some of us are single and I felt that many of us were longing for fellowship with people in our age group. So, I met with 2 couples and told them my thoughts. They bought in! Even the men…We are from the same generation and can talk about things that others would not understand.”
Lately, the group has been gathering for a favorite new tradition: having appetizers and playing Farkle! With lots of dice rolling, score tallying, and good-natured competition, Farkle nights have quickly become a highlight of MGM meetings. More than the game, though, it’s the joy, community, and encouragement that keep everyone coming back. And for those who come out on top—there’s even a prize…
The Farkle Trophy! Created by Lisa Coleman, this fun and fabulous trophy is passed along each month to the reigning Farkle champion. It’s become a source of extra motivation for each roll of the dice!
Whether you’re a seasoned Farkle pro or have never rolled a die in your life, you’ll be welcomed with open arms.
