Faith, Fellowship, and Flapjacks

There was a sweet aroma in the air—literally and spiritually—on the Sunday, March 24, 2024 as EC’s youth hosted a pancake breakfast following service. With sizzling griddles, batter bowls, and a healthy dose of M&M candies, the youth served up more than just breakfast. They created connection.

As our students poured, flipped, and carefully crafted colorful M&M pancakes, there was laughter, teamwork, and lots of second helpings!

Seeing our youth step up—working shoulder-to-shoulder to serve the church—was a beautiful reminder of what it means to be the body of Christ in action.

When our students serve, the whole church is encouraged. Their joy, energy, and servant hearts inspire us to engage with one another more intentionally. They show us that no act of service is too small, and that sometimes ministry looks like pouring syrup and making someone smile over a stack of pancakes.

This gathering was more than just some kids flipping pancakes— it reminds us that God is at work in every generation, raising up young leaders full of faith and love.

To our amazing kids: thank you for your heart to serve. Your pancakes were delicious, but your effort and kindness were even sweeter. And to every adult who encouraged, supervised, or taste-tested—thank you for investing in our next generation.
